Why come to Landlord Litigation
Julie Herbert has 15 year’s experience as a Residential Landlord & Tenant Property Paralegal, gaining her Tier 4 membership with the Institute of Paralegals and has successfully earned her Professional Practising Certificate with the Professional Paralegal Register.
A finalist for Paralegal of the Year Awards 2019, Julie is a proud Paralegal with extensive specialist knowledge and experience to share with her clients.
Starting her legal career as a County Court Advocate for Ashley Taylors Legal, Julie has gained experience both in and out of the courtroom. Representing solicitors, landlords and letting agents in possession claims before District and Circuit Judges in London and across the country, Julie has the advantage of knowing likes and dislikes of certain Judges when it comes to preparing a case for court.
Julie has a wealth of experience dealing with all types of residential possession situations and has seen pretty much everything, from borrowed children (to avoid eviction), landlords hiding in cupboards (not recommended), brothels to cannabis factories!
Julie later joined Landlord Action heading up the Legal Team and featured in the Channel 5 series, “Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords”. She has dealt with and seen thousands of possession claims through to conclusion, gaining in-depth knowledge and experience, not only on the legislation that governs this area of law, but on the needs and expectations of a client.
Now a sole practitioner, a member of the Institute of Paralegals and regulated by the Professional Paralegal Register, Julie provides a support service to all involved with Landlord & Tenant residential matters.
Julie’s ethos is focussed on communication. She has empathy for landlords, agents and tenants who need to talk. Whatever the situation, people want to be heard. You’ll be able to reach Julie on the phone. You will receive an update even if there’s nothing to update you on. Julie knows that when her service is needed, her client is in a vulnerable situation and looking for a guiding hand and a sympathetic ear, as opposed to a generic email.
With client expectations understandably high, Julie aims to deliver on those expectations from the start.
However big or small, Julie prides herself on the ability to break down the task at hand so that there are no surprises along the process, to communicate effectively with her client, provide solutions and eradicate obstacles, achieving the best possible outcome. Clients are kept fully informed and able to feel more in control of the situation by receiving clear advice and support.
Aware that time is money, Julie is conscious to deliver accuracy, attention to detail and efficiency. Rushing a job is not an option. Time invested at the early stages pays dividends throughout the process making sure that all eventualities are accounted for and that no stone is left unturned.
Julie is bound by the Code of Conduct set out by the Institute of Paralegals, allowing clients to feel that they are receiving the best advice and support, being dealt with to the highest standard by an expert in the field of residential landlord and tenant law.
Julie also works on a consultancy basis for expert solicitor firms where contentious and other landlord and tenant matters can be referred, giving client protection under the umbrella of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. Julie’s experience has also put her in touch with Barristers Chambers in London where second opinions can be sought at a reasonable cost.
A small business with big awareness of client’s needs for communication, where the ethos is to deliver clear communication, be empathic, reassuring and approachable, lending a hand to guide client’s through their particular issue expeditiously, accurately and personably, whoever they are.
